Warmer weather and melting snow are now daily fixtures and here in Milwaukee, that means rugby spring training has begun.
The Milwaukee Harlequins have scheduled a number of indoor training sessions to make due until the thawed fields have dried out enough to be used for practice.

Many of the Milwaukee Harlequins wrapped up a 10 week training program at NX Level Fitness a Waukesha based athletic performance facility. The Harlequins were given all that they could handle by personal trainer Matt Gifford who trained the participants to their limits.

The details are:Tuesday, March 9th and Thursday, March 11th

Time Warner Cable has been a long-standing partner of your Milwaukee Harlequins. They have produced numerous matches over the years and broadcasted them on their local TWC Sports 32 channel here in the Milwaukee area.
Now, Time Warner brings us live coverage of the premier rugby tournament in the Northern hemisphere, the Six Nations Championship. The following matches will be shown on BBC America (channel 225 and 1225 in Wisconsin):

I do apoligize in advance for lumping two separate births from two different families on the same page, however, space is at a premium (what with the billboard sized flash program on top).
First off, using up the last of the J names, and the cornerstone of the 2030 front row for the Harlequins (thanks for the filler material Loader), Joshua James Kloiber was born on 1-15-2010, at 10:16am (1016 hours to you military types). He weighed in at 7lbs 1oz. Mom and baby are doing well, and dad never sleeps anyway.
In addition, Pickett Wall and his wife welcomed Baylor Marie on 1-14-2010. Pickett must have worked for the CIA, because he didn't give me anything else to write, except that she will be part of our cheerleading squad (wait, we have a cheerleading squad?), presumably also in 2030.

If you are reading this, I'm assuming you have survived the warm drinks and cold waters (for the extremely brave and foolhardy) of this New Years celebrations. Lots of work and effort have gone into crafting spring schedules (although very little of either on my part), to ensure not only the joy of competition, but disparaging remarks on how you could have done better.
In any case, the initial spring schedule is posted, and is composed primarily of the CARFU Cup, which we came very close to securing last spring. Success and guaranteed competition have resulted in increased participation, and as such, we will be facing our challengers from across town, and the strong willed inhabitants of the state capitol, in addition to the usual suspects from Chicago Bear nation.
This is by no means a final draft, as there may be other opportunities for games and social events.
Hope you all had a better 2009 than 90% of your countrymen, and here's to a grand start to the 2010 rugby season.
