The Lake County Gladiators arrived low in numbers but full of intensity. They were looking for revenge following a 20-11 barn burner in the spring and hoping to make their mark in their first season in Division 2. Although the Harlequins struggled all match to avoid the referees whistle, the 80-8 win is a record score and point differential against a Lake County team missing nearly 20 players due to retirement and injury. Despite the score, the Gladiators played with a lot of heart and even added players for the B-side match to give our club a full run. In addition, the visitors had excellent set-piece skills throughout the match but showed difficulty in containing the Harlequins on defense, particularly in loose play. The Harlequins now start preparations for their away-match on against Lincoln Park on 4-Oct. Related Items:
