The Division II National Playoff (sweet 16) is fast approaching and is rightly a priority for players, coaches and managers. Reaching this stage is something we all should be proud of. Rugby as a whole in Milwaukee should take this as an opportunity to introduce more people to the sport and the club. However, as the preparations for the playoff reach a fever pitch, it is important take a moment to thank all club members for their help. We couldn't have made it this far without the combined efforts of everyone on and off the pitch. The growth of your Milwaukee Harlequins is reaching a tipping point. With the national playoffs, we have the opportunity to move to division I and we thus have a vehicle to provide great rugby to the Milwaukee area. It will require an engaged community; one that is willing to look at all options to make this a success. We will have to look beyond this national run and at the development of rugby at all levels in Milwaukee. The bigger we can make our community, the better rugby in Milwaukee will be. One member of our extended rugby family, Dylan Bolin, made some waves this week in the local media in support of our efforts to grow the Harlequins community. As most of you know, Dylan lends his charismatic Danny Okey voice to Time Warner Sports as the color commenter for the Harlequins home-games. Dylan also is a regular on the morning show at WKLH radio (Dave & Carole show). Last week, he showed his pride in the green and gold of the Quins by turning piece on the Harley Davidson museum into a story on the success of the team. Dylan also ran a very funny article on his time with the Quins on his blog, dylanbolin.com, entitled "The Mighty ‘Quins". In addition to being extremely funny on a regular basis, the blog receives a ton (that's a metric ton for you locals) of eyeballs every day. Thank-you Dylan for helping to spread the word and to everyone out there who helps push the club forward.
