The
Milwaukee area collegiate programs were well represented in the State
select
side announced today. 11 of the 26 man roster were from the Milwaukee
area programs. Marquette University will be represented by the largest
contingent, having four players selected. The team will represent the
state in
the Midwest LAU Collegiate Championship this spring.
With
the inclusion of the players selected from UW-Whitewater, the south
eastern
area provided over half the players for the select side. This
demonstrates the quality of the local area programs.
The
Milwaukee Harlequins would like to extend our congratulations to all
the
players selected and to the Coaching staff at each of the programs. The
style
and level of talent demonstrated by all the local players who were at
the try
outs on Sundays was impressive.
As the
coach of the Milwaukee Harlequins I would like to extend an offer to all
the
programs;
To the
players-
You
are all welcome to the Harlequins trainings this spring and also in our
newly developed Sevens program this summer.
To the
Coaches-
Our
goal is the development of rugby as a whole and would like to help the
high
school and college programs in the area. To that end , if there are
areas where
you are looking for assistance in the coaching and development of your
players
and team, please contact us we would like to help.
